Strawberries and Queen: help celebrate the Platinum Jubilee

Saturday 7 May

1-2pm Strawberries and Queen: strawberry planting and artist installation with Lo Tierney.

2-3.30pm 70 years of fashion workshop and vintage outfit display with Twintage.

Saturday 28 May

10-11am Beachcombing for sea glass and plastic pieces for crown making workshop at Wirral North Coastal Park Gunsite Beach. 

1-2pm Crown making workshop at the Earth Moves site, using reclaimed sea materials and inspired by crowns of the world.

2-4pm Printmaking workshop using vintage printmaking equipment.

Sunday 29 May

12noon-5pm Jubilee afternoon-tea party: Artist Tony O'Connell art installation, strawberries and cream, free afternoon tea party, Drag performances, Drag King workshop, badge making workshop, eco-crown fashion show, 1950s sing-a-long, dance performances. Free and fun events for all ages.

The Earth Moves site at Telegraph Lane can be accessed by foot and bicycle from Bayswater Road, turning onto Green Lane and walking up the lane for 480 meters. It is also within walking distance from the North Wirral Coastal Car Park on Green Lane, Wallasey CH45 8NA. There is no public car parking at the site itself, bicycle parking is available.

Funding for this project is thanks to the National Lottery to support voluntary and community organizations to deliver creative activity as part of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, delivered through the Arts Council and Community Foundations for Merseyside. Thanks also to Wirral Council.
